About Us

With a mother who was a potter and is now an award-winning painter, Sally had a very artistic upbringing and has early memories of attending music festivals, playing fiddle at the folk club and being encouraged to dance, sing and act.

She trained as a journalist and was arts and entertainment editor at the Waikato Times before heading to London. On her return to New Zealand Sally worked as a journalist and editing a variety of specialist magazines before taking up a role as Public Relations Co-ordinator at Manukau Institute of Technology and later moving back into the arts as Communications Manager at THE EDGE (Auckland’s major performing arts venues encompassing the Aotea Centre, Auckland Town Hall and The Civic).

Sally began working as a freelance publicist in 2004 and has established her own performing arts publicity and marketing company SWPR Ltd. She offers a full range of services to clients from small theatre organisations to major festivals, international promoters and major arts organisations.

Sally thoroughly enjoys working in the ever-changing arts and entertainment industry and continues to see as much variety in the arts as possible both within New Zealand and internationally.
