Named after a Quidditch term from the Harry Potter universe, New Zealand's Openside specialises in bright, spirited indie pop. The band formed when punk-pop band Maybe Rave joined forces with vocalist Possum Plows, who was crowned Auckland University’s Songwriter of the Year in 2014. Plows, guitarist/vocalist PJ Shepherd, bass player Harry Carter, and drummer George Powell released their streamlined debut single as Openside, "Worth It," in the spring of 2015. - All Music Website
