Shayna King is a singer-songwriter - though not in the traditional sense. Backed by a proficient band and with a voice described as a “stunning mix between soft and powerful”(1) the Christchurch, New Zealand artist is fast making a strong name for her music.

King's recently released, self-produced new single 'Calling You' is receiving top reviews and is described as a "beautiful, melodic and mesmerising
piece of work" and "a very radio ready track that I would compare to the likes of Anika Moa and Anna Coddington, with a twist of country for flavour".

The new single was released in August on the back of a nationwide tour supporting her debut album 'The Day Is Young', which picked up nominations for the prestigious 2014 Taite Music Prize, with the title track also selected as a semi-finalist in the International Unsigned Only Songwriting Competition.

Having recently played support for New Zealand Artist-Collective ‘Fly My Pretties’, UK Legend ‘Nik Kershaw’ and Australia’s ‘Mark Wilkinson’, King is touring the South Island this summer with her full-band, finishing at hometown Christchurch with a headline show at 'Ingham Lazy Sundays' in the Botanic Gardens.
