Awapuni Racecourse is the home to Manawatu Racing Club, Feilding Jockey Club, Rangitikei Racing Club and Marton Jockey Club alongside one of the largest training facilities in the country. Awapuni is home to New Zealand's richest Group 1 2YO race the Courtesy Ford Manawatu Sire's Produce Stakes, part of the City of Palmerston North Gold Cup Festival, showcasing thoroughbred, greyhound and harness racing over the last weekend in March each year.
