The Covert Theatre is NZ’s only fulltime comedy theatre with a fully licensed bar in the heart of Auckland, located at 51 Mackelvie St, Ponsonby.
The 86-seat theatre is home to NZ’s top improv comedy act such as The Improv Bandits, A Bard’s Tale and C-Suite.
We have shows every Thursday to Sunday including a Sunday afternoon family comedy show.
We host the Auckland Improv Festival in April and have NZ International Comedy Festival shows in May.

Monday to Wednesday we run the Improv School, where we have workshops for all ages:

Covert Juniors: for those who want to perform live on stage (12 - 17 years)
Improv 101 & 201: the pathway to joining the Covert (18 years +)
Block workshops: work with NZ’s top acting and improv teachers (18 years +)
Improv Test Drive: Sunday afternoon open workshop for anyone and everyone (koha)
